The origins of "L'Hosteria di Mosciano", Antica Stazione di Posta, starts from the mid of XIX century, when Giacomo Setti built up the main building with his personal shop inside.
The shop was immediately recognised as "The Posta" and it begun to be the very first chioce for all the travellers who wanted to have a stop and a rest.
The current Hosteria di Mosciano started to be the tipical stop for all the merchants ("barrocciai") travelling to Florence to bring the products of the countryside who first used to have a stop in the ancient wine shop and then also in the new taproom with kitchen.
"La Posta" and its cusine came to the florentine bourgeoise's ears who started to go there during the outdoor trips. The current Hosteria di Mosciano was the favourite destination to have a snack based on omelettes, countryside bread, and good wine from the tuscan hills and it was also frequently visited by the premier at that time, Bettino Ricasoli (1861-1866).
Bettino Ricasoli loved to discuss about wines with the host and the customers; he was very prepared about that, as he was the very first one to codify the modern production systems of Chianti wine.
In 1916 an energic woman, Cesira, expert cook and mother of many sons, turned the place in an eating house, maintening the hospitality and the typical tuscan cusine.
And the history goes on…
